Coach MillerWARSAW, Ky-Bearcats win 7th straight to earn their only Kentucky High School Athletic Association 8th Regional Tournament title Saturday night.

The girls from Northern Kentucky went into the game winning six straight games, including the KHSAA District 32 championship.

Exciting games bring out the best in players, fans, and coaches. Bearcats boys Head Coach, Dan Trame, found his best in New York. He wore something blue, borrowed, and used to bring home the first district title since "Ike" Eisenhower was president of the free world.

The teams split their first two meetings with each winning at home. Grant County's loss made it their sixth in a row to end the season.

DRY RIDGE, Ky-Panthers run down by BravesGrant County boys basketball wins second in a row. The Braves took a 13 point lead in the first half during an 18-0 run after being down by eight in the first quarter.

Braves fan watch home team chase down, keep up, and beat the Walton-Verona. The last time these two teams met was in Walton, where the Braves kept the score within two, but lost by 11 in the waning minutes.

Pendleton County traveled to Grant County High School hoping to improve its record to a one game above .500.






INDEPENDENCE, Ky-Pioneers Dance Team Prepares for Journey South
The Kentucky Hip Hop Freestyle dance champions prepare to go bowling. The Simon Kenton High School dance team was invited to participate at the 2011 Orange Bowl halftime show after stepping into the top spot in the Bluegrass in March.


VERONA, Ky-Bearcats advances with 3rd shutout in four games
The home team started off out of the blocks like a team of sled dogs racing the Iditarod. The Bearcats took a quick 6-0 lead on a 32 yard Zach MacAdams run, but missed the PAT.



INDEPENDENCE, Ky- Pioneers soar over Eagles 43-6
Simon Kenton (8-2) took flight early and often against Scott (2-8) Friday night. The Pioneers racked up 43 unanswered points during the first half.


VERONA, Ky- Baumgartner surpasses 1,000 yards rushing
On the final game of the team's third season as a KHSAA sanctioned team, senior Andrew Baumgartner, became the school's only player to rush for more than 1,000 yards.

The Walton-Verona football cheerleaders rallied the students, parents and team to support their efforts to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

Walton-Verona High School began its history in 1880 with two grade schools. In 1935 the Walton and Verona school districts combined to create what it is today. The newly renovated building houses both high and middle school students.
