Mason County was on the board first when junior forward, Steven Chambers, drove to the basket for the lay-up.
That would be the only lead the Royals would have during the game. Immediately afterwards, Simon Kenton's senior guard, Cody Chambers, drained one of his two
3-pointers on the night. Chambers led all scoring and finished with 14 points.
There were three ties in the game at four points, six points and eight points. Then the Pioneers would take the lead for good after a 6-0 run to go up 14-8. Simon Kenton put on a shooting clinic in the 2nd period by outscoring the Royals 22-8 to double its lead at half time 36-18.
Tanner Walton led Mason County's scoring efforts with 13, then Zaire Henry had 11 and Shawn Johnson added 10.
