Jake Burger's 22 points lift Indians

ALEXANDRIA, Ky-
Bishop Brossart (11-4) hosted Holy Cross (14-1) Tuesday night. The Mustangs have now lost four of its last five games, but remains atop of the KHSAA Region 9 contenders.

Holy Cross' only loss came early in December to Boone County (13-3). The Indians have a two game lead over the Rebels in KHSAA Region 10.

Holy Cross had its largest lead of the night, 25-14 with six minutes left in the second period. That is when the Mustangs made a run to the half with a cheering crowd behind them. The home team outscored the Indians 17-6 for the remainder of the half for a 31-31 tie.

Jake burger goes for twoIn the second half, Holy Cross took fewer shots on goal and made 43.4 percent of them, compared to Brossart's 34.5 percent. That was the difference in the game, seven points.

Holy Cross' Jake Burger led all scoring with 22 points and temmate Tony Campbell had an impressive outing with a double double. Campbell had 15 points and had brought down 16 rebounds.

Brossart's Alex Trentman scored 11 points and six of them came from the free throw line.
